The shots that killed the victim were fired by Egyptian border police and not by Israelis. Incidentally, a by-product of the existence of these checkpoints is that they cause Palestinian farmers some difficulty in moving their produce around which to some media reporters is a much more important issue than the safety of innocent Jewish men, women and children.
